Has a light run of salmon moving into the lower river, but no big numbers yet as it is still a bit early. Anglers continue to catch a fair to good number of brown trout when casting small spoons or flies.
Is getting an early run of salmon. Brown trout are still being caught. Most are fly fishing but a few were casting small spoons.

Summer is in full swing on the Pere Marquette. Day time fishing has been productive using attractor patterns like a Chernobyl Ant or any buggy looking rubber legged fly. Terrestrials like Ants, Beetles, Inchworms, Hoppers and Crickets are also effective. For those who prefer night fishing waking a Mouse Pattern may very well land you the biggest trout of your life. Most of our hatches are done, we have the Morning Trico Hatch (size 24) and Blue Winged Olives (size 20) hatching after a rain. Look for more Salmon to enter the river during the Full Moons in July, August and September. Remember to work around the Canoe Hatch- They normally do not launch until around 9am and must be off the river at 6pm unless they are fishing. Tight Lines, Sean
Successful anglers were fishing the deeper holes. While some have started spawning, this week could bring a good push of fresh fish.
Has steelhead but catch rates were slow due to the cold water. The next warm-up should provide some excellent trout fishing.
Is producing steelhead. Try flies, spawn, wax worms, small spoons or spinners.

The Recent Rainfall and Snowmelt has the water up and very stained near Custer. It is too early to tell if we had a new push of fish. The best numbers of fish at this time are in the Flies Only Section near Baldwin. We had some great fishing earlier this Fall in the Lower and Mid Sections. Those fish seemed to have moved upstream closer to spawning gravel to Winter Over. Flies, Spawn and Plugs have been taking fish.
Should still have some good steelhead fishing. Those fly fishing seem to catch more fish.
